Misconseptions about the purity of essential oils

It's hard to know where to start when you have decided to use Essential Oils to support the health of your family.  There are many misconceptions floating around about the purity of oils, different A, B, C, or D grades given to oils, and that there is a difference between "Aromatherapy oils," "Fragrance oils," and "Therapeutic grade oils."  And where to buy essential oils.  The truth is that in America, there is no regulated graded system so it's up to the consumer to figure out just how pure the oils are that you are getting.

One of the simplest ways to determine the purity of the oils you are getting is to read the label.  America does not have a regulated essential oil system, but DOES require that all the ingredients be listed on the side of the bottle.  If you are looking for peppermint oil, look at the ingredient list.  If it lists anything other than peppermint oil than you will know that the oil has been stretched with something.  If the only item listed on the ingredient list is peppermint oil than that is all that is in the bottle.

There are a few purity tests that good oil companies will furnish for you upon request.  The GC/MS test which stands for gas chromatography/  Mass spectroscopy.  In short, a small amount of oils is tested for purity and a chart is produced.  To learn more about this process visit http://www.wlnaturalhealth.com/aromatherapy-articles/essential-oil-quality-control.htm

So, where do you purchase GOOD essential oils?  The answer is that you can find them everywhere.  Don't be lead astray by marketing hype is either direction, meaning you don't have to pay through the nose for them, but you may not want to go with the cheapest either.

The first product that you will want is an essential oils kit.  The essential oils kit contains the 9 oils I use the most.  Each of the names listed are also links for you to discover how these oils can help you.

The kit consists of the 9 most common everyday oils:
1.  Peppermint
2.  Lavender
3.  Lemon
4.  Thieves
5.  Purification
6.  Pan Away
7.  Valor
8.  Frankincense
9.  Peace and Calming

Of course you can purchase these separately, but The Kit is the most economical way to get this brand of essential oils.
